Heavenly God,

I have always believed it is wise to spend a moment in prayer before you take communion. When communion is served in your church, here are three things you can do to prepare your heart before you take it:
1. Reflect
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, which is for you do this in remembrance of me. The Lord’s Supper is also called “the Lord’s table” , “communion,” “cup of blessing” , and “breaking of bread” .
