Peanut butter pie has always been a favorite we had it often when I was growing up. Creamy, smooth, and peanut-buttery goodness surrounded by a light and flaky crust whats not to love? In this particular case, the bf and I wanted to have something sweet for Oscar Night 2013 and this no-bake dessert fit the bill perfectly.

Since Id had this pie as a child, I naturally went to my mom for the recipe and discovered that it called for non-dairy whipped topping. Im not perfect in my avoidance of overly processed foods, but I have been able to avoid this terrible product for a few years now. This meant that I wouldnt be making her recipe for this peanut butter pie. I turned to and found a solid alternative one that called for fresh whipping cream, instead of the fake stuff. Win! I also make my own pie crusts its a very easy recipe and so delicious!

Start by mixing 1 cup of creamy peanut butter , 8 ounces of cream cheese , 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tbsp softened butter, and 1 cup of sugar.

Mixture will come together slowly beat on high until it gets smooth and creamy.

Whip 8 ounces of heavy whipping cream in a small food processor, mixer or immersion blender until peaks form. Add it to the peanut butter mixture.

Gently fold the fresh whipped cream into the peanut butter to keep the fluffy texture beating it with the mixer will cause it to fall.

It will come together into pure deliciousness!

Spoon the peanut butter mix into the pie crust.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Place 1 cup chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a large glass bowl. In a saucepan, bring 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream to a rolling simmer. Pour the cream over the chocolate chips and peanut butter and let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until completely smooth. Pour the chocolate layer over the peanut butter layer.

Refrigerate, covered, at least 1 hour until ready to serve.

Crunchy Oreo crust. Creamy peanut butter. Decadent chocolate. This Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie is the dessert trifecta.

Who can resist a peanut butter pie?

½ package cream cheese
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
cup smooth peanut butter
1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 prepared graham cracker crust
¼ cup finely chopped peanuts


  • Whip the cream cheese until soft and fluffy. Beat in the sugar and peanut butter.
  • Fold whipped topping into the peanut butter mixture. Pour filling into the pie shell. Sprinkle pie with chopped peanuts. Chill until firm.

No-Cook Peanut Butter Cream Pie

This no-bake peanut butter pie includes a few basic ingredients and some optional toppings to send your peanut butter pie over the top!

  • graham cracker crust
  • salted peanuts
  • mini peanut butter cups

To make this pie, I went with a store bought graham cracker crust to keep things simple. But you can go with a homemade graham cracker crust or chocolate Oreo crust as well. Either would be absolutely delicious! I used the 9 inch size crust but you can stretch this recipe a bit further by using the 10 inch size instead, although your pie wont be quite as high.

    How To Make No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

    This peanut butter pie is actually very quick to whip up. And since there is no baking required, it works great for any time of year! To start, I added some magic shell to my graham cracker crust and spread it evenly across the bottom. This isnt a required step but one I love nonetheless. If you are worried about the sweetness of this pie or simply dont have it, go ahead and skip it. If you have any cracks in the bottom of your crust, this will help keep it together.

    Next it is time to whip out the electric mixer and and beat together your softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Once that is well combined, add in the peanut butter and milk and beat until smooth.

    Fold in your whipped topped topping until fully combined. Pour your peanut butter filling into your graham cracker crust.

    Spread your filling evenly over your graham cracker crust. Cover and refrigerate for several hours to fully set.

    If you are short on time you can speed up this process by placing your peanut butter pie in the freezer.

    Tips For The Perfect Peanut Butter Pie

    • Give your peanut butter pie a brand new twist by making your own Nutter Butter crust. To make, crush 24 pieces of Nutter Butter cookies and mix with butter. This is one of my favorite flavor variations
    • Heres another interesting crust worth trying: vanilla wafer! To make, combine crushed vanilla wafers and butter. Simple yet flavorful.
    • Use Splenda instead of granulated sugar, low-sugar Graham crust, low-sugar peanut butter, and drizzle the pie with sugar-free chocolate sauce. Voila a Diabetic-friendly pie!
    • Sprinkle the pie with chopped Reeses Peanut Butter Cups for a nice, sweet and salty flavor.
    • If you want an even more peanut buttery flavor pour some Reeses Shell over the crust. Freeze if for 10 minutes before adding the filling.
    • Transform it into a Dirt Pie by using a pre-made Oreo crust and topping it with Oreo cookie crumbs.
    • To remove any lumps from your filling, use an electric mixer to mix the ingredients. This ensures a smooth, creamy filling that melts in your mouth.
    • Softened cream cheese is easier to combine with sugar. Take your cream cheese out of the fridge at least 20 to 30 minutes before making this recipe.

    This pie stays fresh covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can even make it ahead of time and freeze for later!

    To freeze, place the pie in the freezer until frozen solid, a few hours. Wrap the pie in three layers of plastic wrap and one layer of foil. Put the pie back into the freezer for up to 3 months.

    Let the pie set at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving.
