Begin by making the crust. Combine the chocolate wafers, sugar and butter in bowl of food processor fitted with the blade attachment.

Pulse until the cookies are finely crushed.

Pour the crumbs into a pie pan.

Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie pan . Bake for 10 minutes until crisp.

Combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt in a heavy medium saucepan. Whisk gently until combined.

In a bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together the milk and egg yolks. Add the mixture to the saucepan in a slow and steady stream, whisking until the mixture is smooth.

Cook over medium-high heat, whisking frequently, until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken, 6-8 minutes. Immediately turn the heat down to a simmer and cook whisking constantly, especially around the edges for one more minute until thick.

Turn off the heat, then immediately add the chopped chocolate, butter and vanilla extract.

Whisk until smooth.

Pour the filling into the crust and smooth the top. Press a piece of saran wrap directly over surface of the filling to prevent a film from forming chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Up to three hours before serving, place the heavy cream in chilled mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-low speed until the whisk or beaters begin to leave tracks in the cream. Add the sugar and whip until the cream holds medium, silky peaks. Go slowly towards the end if it gets grainy or curdled, youve gone too far.

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups HERSHEYS SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips, divided
  • Sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping, or hazelnuts
  • Bake pie shell cool. Stir together sugar, cornstarch and salt in 2 quart saucepan. Combine egg yolks and milk in container with pouring spout. Gradually blend milk mixture into sugar mixture.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat stir in butter and vanilla. Add 1-3/4 cups chocolate chips stir until chips are melted and mixture is well blended. Pour into prepared pie shell press plastic wrap onto filling. Cool. Refrigerate several hours or until chilled and firm.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and remaining chocolate chips, if desired. 6 to 8 servings

    Dark chocolate is my favorite, and for years some of my favorite recipes are those like English toffee, fudge, and chocolate cream pie. Then when I changed my eating habits and went keto, at first I thought these were all going to be prohibited.

    Now, however, Ive learned to make some of these indulgent chocolate treats low carb and gluten-free.

    How To Make A Low Carb Chocolate Pie Crust

    This is the most awesome versatile low carb gluten-free pie crust. Truly, you can use it for most any sweet or even savory pie. First, all you have to do is take a medium-sized bowl and measure out the ingredients. Second, whisk together the almond flour, salt, and sweetener. Third, pour in the melted butter and stir to combine completely.

    Now comes the tricky bit if there is one. Dump the mixture into the empty pie plate. Next, use your hands or the flat bottom of a glass or measuring cup to press the mixture firmly to evenly cover the entire pie plate. I like to use my flat-bottomed measuring cup because its out already, and you can easily create a flat crust bottom.

    Prick the crust bottom with a fork and bake in a 325-degree oven for about 20 minutes, or until the edges start to brown.

    There is nothing better than a friend unless it is a friend with chocolate.

    How To Make The Best Cream Pie

  • Prepare Picky Palate pie crust recipe as directed in recipe. Let cool completely.
  • Place sugar and egg yolks in a medium mixing bowl, stir until sugar is well coated with yolks. Add cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt. Stir to combine.
  • Add milk to a large saucepan over medium heat, stir in sugar/egg yolk mixture.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Once mixture starts to boil and thicken, remove from heat. Stir in butter and vanilla. Cool for 15 minutes, then pour mixture into cooked, cooled pie crust. Chill for 2 hours before serving. Top with whipped cream and chocolate savings before serving.
  • Let the chocolate filling cool for a good 15 minutes before transferring to cooked/cooled pie crust. Filling should be smooth, thick and creamy.

    3 Beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl until smooth. Gradually beat in eggs, heavy cream, vanilla and salt, beating until well blended.
