Can These Energy Bars Be Frozen

KEY LIME PIE PROTEIN BAR REVIEW – OH YEAH ONE

You bet they can be frozen! After the bars are cut into equal sizes, place them on a baking sheet, slightly separated, and place them in the freezer for 30 minutes or until firm. Once the bars are firm, remove from the freezer and place them in a freezer-friendly covered container with parchment paper between the stacked bars and freeze for up to 2 months.

To freeze the key lime energy balls, first place all the rolled out balls on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes or until firm. This prevents them from freezing together in a clump! Once the balls are firm, remove from the freezer and place in a covered container or freezer-friendly bag and freeze for up to 2 months.

The length of time for the expiration date or “best used before” date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.

Perishable items generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage for maximum freshness.

Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

To Make Into Energy Balls:

Follow the first two steps, then scoop out two tablespoons of the mixture, roll them between your hands to form into a ball, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Continue this process until all mixture is used up. This recipe will make about 16 energy bites, depending on how big you roll them. Once all the mixture has been used up and theyre spaced out on the baking sheet, place the baking sheet in the fridge and let the balls set.

Types Of Energy Balls

Power Crunch Key Lime Pie Protein Energy Bar, 1.4 oz, 12 ...

As you may have guessed, there are so many different types of energy balls and they go by a variety of names too. Some names Ive heard: energy bites, energy balls, bliss bites, oat balls and fat bombs. In my mind, there is one thing they all have in common: theyre no bake and rolled into balls. Here are some ways they can be different:

  • Protein Some energy balls will have added protein powder to obviously amp up the protein, but also round out the snack and make it more filling and satisfying. I personally love making these protein balls.
  • Date-based Some energy balls are made with a base of dates and nuts . They are usually grain-free and have no sugar added because the dates add a good amount of sweetness and help hold the balls together. For the date based balls, you usually need a food processor or blender to pulse the nuts and dates together.
  • Oat-based Many energy ball recipes have a base of oats. They are packed with fiber and healthy fats and the perfect on-the-go snack. My peanut butter no bake energy balls are oat-based and so yummy.

Key Lime Protein Cheesecake Bars

03.15 2015

So yesterday I woke up and discovered via Instagram that it was Pi DayMarch 14th. This is not the kind of thing I remember on my own, but once reminded, of course I had to make some pie. Now the thing about this pie that I made is that you just cant rush perfection You have to be patient with it, and in this case let it set up overnight so it makes the most deliciously airy, creamy key-lime pie that you would never imagine is totally healthy. Seriously, think about these macros: 76 calories made up of 7 grams of protein, 3 grams of fat and 5 grams of carbs. Magical

How To Make Key Lime Pie Protein Bites

Combine quinoa, cashew butter, protein powder, key lime juice and lime zest in a food processor. Blend for about 1 minute, or until ingredients are well processed and begin to form a large ball.

Place the graham crackers in a Ziploc bag and crush them using a rolling pin. Pour crushed graham crackers onto a small plate.

Roll the quinoa-protein mixture into roughly 3 inch balls. Roll each ball in the graham crackers, coating the exterior evenly. Repeat until all protein balls are formed and coated. This recipe should yield about 18 to 20 balls.

If the protein bites are a little bit saggy, pop them in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes to firm up. Enjoy!

  • Place all ingredients into the bowl of a food processor.
  • Process until the mixture is crumbly yet still holds together well when pinched between your fingers.
  • If the mixture is too dry, add another date and process again, or add one teaspoon of water at a time until the mixture holds together nicely.
  • If the mixture is too wet, add 2 tablespoons of additional nuts at a time and process again until the mixture is moist and holds together.
  • Once the mixture has the perfect sticking power, press the mixture onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet forming a square about 9 x 9 inches. Place bars in the fridge to chill if they are too sticky.

Key Lime Energy Balls

These key lime energy balls are made with almonds, cashews, coconut, lime juice and dates. Theyre a breeze to whip up and a great snack to meal prep for the week.

I dont know about you, but energy balls are one of my favorite snacks to meal prep for the week. Theyre easy to make, the prep doesnt take very long and they taste good which means I actually look forward to having them as a snack! Added bonus: theyre made with whole, real foods so I can feel good about having them for snack.

These little zesty energy balls are a remake of my homemade key lime Larabars, but in ball form. Theyre packed with limey coconut flavor and kind of remind me of key lime pie or my lime tart recipe. Except theyre exponentially easier to make! Theyre sweet, zesty and surprisingly refreshing for an energy ball.

Start by adding the almonds, cashews and coconut into your food processor fitted with the S-blade and pulse until everything is chopped into small pieces. Place the nut mixture in a bowl and set aside.

Add your dates into the empty processor and pulse until a paste forms. The dates will probably mix into a sticky ball. If they do, break a part the ball a bit with your hands.

Add the nuts and coconut mixture back into the processor with the dates and pulse until well combined. Add the coconut oil, lime juice, lime zest and salt and pulse a few more times until just incorporated.

Once the mixture is combined, use your hands to form the dough into balls using about 1 tablespoon of dough for each ball. Enjoy right away or store for later!

Ingredients In Key Lime Energy Balls

These key lime energy balls are the same base recipe as my homemade key lime pie Larabars, but you just roll the mixture into balls instead of pressing it into bars. Heres what you need to make them:

  • almonds raw or roasted, but look for almonds without salt added.
  • cashews raw or roasted, but look for cashews without salt added.
  • Medjool dates You can buy medjool dates that are already pitted or pit them yourself . Two brands that I like are Natural Delights and Joolies. You can find Natural Delights in the produce section of most grocery stores and Joolies are offered and Thrive Market.
  • unsweetened shredded coconut flakes be sure to get unsweetened shredded coconut, not the sweetened stuff.
  • coconut oil
  • sea salt
