Key Lime Pie Delivery In Key West
Hi Everyone,
I was hoping some Key West folks could point me in the right direction. My parents will be in Key West for the first time next week. They are staying at the Westin. The day they check in is my Dad’s birthday and I would love to surprise them with a key lime pie to welcome them to their vacation.
The problem is I have yet to find a pie company in Key West that was willing to deliver the pie to the hotel. They all do shipping to places all over the country, but they can’t deliver it up the street to the Westin. I’ve checked with Kermit’s Key Lime Pie and Key West Key Lime Company.
Any other ideas? My back up plan is to have some delivery service pick it up at the bakery and then deliver it but that is likely an extra larger fee.

BlondGiraffe will no longer ship pies, but will ship frozen pies on a stick covered with chocolate or a key lime rum cake – don’t know what the sticks cost , but the cake I think is $22 plus shipping.
We have bakery here in Ft. Lauderdale called wetakethe cake.com that ships a key Lime Pound cake that was one of Oprah’s favorite things a year or two ago, but I think that’s pricey too- it’s pretty much a shipping issue mor ethan the product itself I think. maybe Key Lime Hard Candies would be one possibility that doesn’t require overnight shipment.

The Key West City Commission has designated Key lime pie as the official dessert of the City of Key West.
During its March 1 meeting, the commission voted unanimously to make a stand for what has long been the islands treasure. The recipe originated in the Florida Keys and was named the official state pie in 2006.
Currently, there is a move in Tallahassee to make strawberry shortcake the official state dessert. Key West entrepreneurs David Sloan and Paul Menta have been rallying support to keep Key lime pie as the signature sweet of the state. At the meeting, pie chef Kermit Carpenter, in appreciation of the move, presented each of the commissioners with a slice of the unequaled culinary delight.
Key lime pie reminds people of sun, sand, tropical breezes, reads the resolution the commission approved. Designating Key lime pie as the official dessert of the city of Key West enhances the welfare of pie lovers in the city of Key West and affirms the cultural and historical significance of this beloved dessert.
