Toaster ovens heat up a little faster than the oven so this method is a bit faster. It is also a great way to go if your oven is being used for other dishes.

This method works for a slice or whole pie, provided it will fit in your toaster oven.

Once again, you will need a baking sheet and parchment paper.

Preheat your toaster oven to 350 degrees and place your pie on the parchment paper lined cooking sheet.

Note: I like to cover the edges of my crust with aluminum foil to prevent burning. The heating elements of the toaster oven are much closer to your pie than in the oven.

Check for desired temp after ten minutes the same way as noted above. If your pie is not warm enough, continue heating it at five minute increments until desired temperature is achieved.

Reheating a pie in the oven is quite easy and while it takes a bit longer than the other methods, it will give you the most consistently good results.

This method works with a whole pie or a slice or two. All you need is a baking sheet and some parchment paper .

The following instructions are for reheating a refrigerated pie with frozen pie instructions to follow.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and place your pie directly on the parchment paper.

Once your oven has come to temperature place your pie in the oven and set your timer for fifteen minutes.

After fifteen minutes, check your pie crust by hand for desired warmth and texture.

If your pie needs more time, check it every eight to ten minutes until desired temperature is achieved.

Note: You can check the temperature of the filling by inserting a skewer to the center of your pie for about five seconds and then removing it and feeling the skewer with your finger.

If you are reheating a frozen cherry pie the setup is exactly the same, but this time set your initial timer for twenty-five minutes. Check the temperature of your pie in the same way and continue heating at ten minute increments if your pie is not to desired temp yet.

    How To Reheat A Cherry Pie On The Stovetop

    Ok, so this is not the simplest method on the list, but its a solid option if none of the above methods are feasible for any reason.

    I prefer to use a cast iron frying pan, but a cast iron skillet will work as well.

    First slice your pie into desired sized pieces and then bring your empty pan to medium high heat.

    Note: Do not add oil to your pan.

    Once your pan has heated up, carefully lay your pie in the pan using a sturdy spatula. Once your pie is safely in the pan, loosely lay a piece of tin foil over the pan and create tent.

    The foil should not be pinched around the pan and instead be resting gently. This will help keep the heat around your pie, thoroughly heating the filling.

    Check the temp of your pie after seven to nine minutes using the method outlined at the beginning of the article.

    If your pie is not hot enough, continue to heat it at three minute increments until desired temperature is achieved.

    • Blend it into a milkshake, I am not kidding, this is really wonderful. One slice of pie with 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and about a cup or more of milk. Blend until smooth.

    This homemade cherry pie is my second favorite pie after apple pie, and its the best recipe out there. Trust me, Ive tried quite a few. It has no fancy ingredients, and it tastes divine and homey. Once youve pitted the cherries, the hard work is behind you and all thats left is mixing the ingredients together.

    Reducing The Cherry Juices On The Stove Takes Less Than 10 Minutes

    After you combine the filling ingredients together, set it aside and roll out the pie dough for your pie dish. During this time, your filling is already working as the sugar pulls juices from the cherries. Normally I discard all this juice, but its where a lot of the cornstarch ends up and thats what helps thicken the filling in the oven.

    Instead, use a slotted spoon to transfer the fruit into your crust, then pour the leftover juice into a small saucepan. Youll only have a few Tablespoons, but this juice is pure GOLD as it holds our thickening agent and a lot of flavor. Reduce on the stove over low heat for about 3-4 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes, then pour over the cherries and toss gently to combine.

    Heres the filling in the mixing bowl. You can see all the juices at the bottom. Spoon cherries into the pie dough:

    Reduce the excess juice on the stove until it has thickened:

    Let it cool for a few minutes, then toss into the cherries. The sugars in the reduced juice will harden and youll notice this juice become almost caramelized and stringy once it hits those cold cherries. This is NORMAL and totally fine! The juice will melt down in the oven, but keep the filling thick.
