This pie is literally the best pie I have eaten this year. Dudes. I cant even pretend that in real life I write cookbooks and am suppose to be all food prosy and wax poetic while writing about food- I have got nothing to write except for EAT THIS FREAKING PIE NOW.

Im not going to lie, I could eat the filling of this pie with a spoon and forget alllll about the crust if I was pressed for time and want to make a seriously pie. Crustless. However that salty, buttery graham wafer crust is the perfect foil to the sweet filling remember to use salted butter! I do call this pie a no-bake pie as you can bake the crust but you dont have to, and the entire peanut butter filling is no bake.

  • Confectioners Sugar You want to use powdered or confectioners sugar in this pie so that you have a creamy, luxurious peanut butter filling. Granulated white sugar will make the filling gritty.

Cant Find That New 3lb Peanut Butter Pie Weve Got You Covered

Hersheys is serving up Reeces Thanksgiving Pies for the big feast. The dessert is made of only two ingredients! Peanut Butter and Chocolate. The bad news is only 3-thousand of the pies were made and they sold out online in less than two hours! HOWEVER..we have your back.

You can make your own, with only four or five ingredients. Here are a couple of versions of the recipe.

1 prepared graham cracker crust1 package cream cheese, softened½ cup creamy peanut butter½ cup confectioners sugar1 container frozen whipped topping, thawed15 miniature chocolate covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Mix the cream cheese, confectioners sugar and peanut butter together until smooth. Fold in 1/2 of the whipped topping. Spoon the mixture into the graham cracker crust.

Place the remaining whipped topping over the top of the peanut butter mixture and garnish with the peanut butter cups. Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.

Basic Cream Pie Filling Amish Peanut Butter Pie From Scratch

Heat the milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan . Mix sugar, salt, flour, and cornstarch. Add the egg yolks and whisk to combine. Add 1/2 cup of the warm milk and whisk until creamy.

The milk will begin to rise when it comes to the boiling point, so you will need to keep your eye on it. You can wait to add the cornstarch mixture until the milk begins to rise, or you can add it once you think the milk is hot. But you will have to stir the mixture continuously after adding the cornstarch. I dont like standing at the stove stirring a pot that never boils :). So I wait till I see the milk begin to rise, then I slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the milk, whisking vigorously. You want the mixture to come to a boil, but if you have an electric stove you know that the burner stays hot for a while. So I turn the burner off as soon as the milk rises. Whisk the mixture until thickened and creamy.

Remove from the heat and whisk in the butter and vanilla. Cool. To avoid having the skin form on the top, you can lay a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the pudding. Chill completely before assembling the pie.

Mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until crumbly. Put about 3/4 of the crumbles into the bottom of the crust. Fill with the pudding. Top with whipped cream and the remaining crumbles.

Social media erupted with comments ranging from people volunteering to taste test to remarks about the pie’s 7,680 calorie count. The brand notes it contains 48 servings.

Hershey’s made only 3,000 of the pies, which were available on its website for $44.99 each. All of the pies sold out within a matter of hours, according to the brand’s Facebook page.

One thing to mention is, when it comes to this Thanksgiving pie, it is missing one vital ingredient: pastry.

  • Whip cream until stiff: Pour heavy cream into a medium mixing bowl and using an electric hand mixer whip heavy cream until very stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate large mixing bowl, using the same beaters and mixer set on low speed, mix peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla if using until combined.
