What started out as a side business for Broadway actor Arnold Wilkerson in 1985 has since become a bona fide smash hit. This small pie shop first opened in NYCs Theater District, but his baked goods were soon recognized as among the best in New York City.

As Thanksgiving Day nears, bakeries across the country are gearing up to make sure dessert is ready in time for dinner.
In New York City, the Little Pie Company has been operating since 1985. Theyre known for their signature Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie — a recipe passed down from grandma.
Founder and former Broadway actor Arnold Wilkerson said orders have been soaring.
“Now that COVID seems to be taking a backseat, lots of people seem to be ordering pies for Thanksgiving … and were happy to be here to serve them,” Wilkerson said.
In Magnolia, Texas, Victoria Pie Company gives a portion of every sale to veterans and their families. Owner Sheila Blue said shes thankful for their community this holiday season.
“We haven’t even just survived, we have thrived because of this community and the way they give back and the way they support our business and our mission,” Blue said.
Back on the East Coast, Table Talk Pies in Worcester, Massachusetts, has been family-owned for three generations. Since it was first introduced on “World News Tonight” four years ago, it has hired 50 new hires, including 150 more seasonal workers to keep up with demand.
Owner Harry Kokkinis said the extra help is always needed around this time of year.
“This is such a busy time for us,” he said. “Trying to help people get their Thanksgiving pies.”

No bakery stays in business in New York City for 25 years unless they are cooking something good. For Little Pie Company owner Arnold Wilkerson, a former actor, that’s pies specifically his sour cream walnut apple pie . Wilkerson started his bakery, which seats 17, in his apartment in 1983 and has since turned his pies into a New York staple. While the traditional apple pie is good, the sour cream walnut apple pie which has thinly sliced seasonal apples and is crunchy, sweet and perfectly textured is knock-your-socks-off delicious. With a little vinegar in the crust and a little sour cream in the filling, this pie is probably what they were referring to when they coined the phrase, “a little slice of heaven.”

Three types of apple pie are baked with love at Chiffon’s in Midwood. After all, owner Esther Kramer met her husband Levi through the bakery business, and their four sons regularly help out behind the counter at this neighborhood institution. There’s the traditional lattice-top apple pie and the crumb-top apple pie, which each cost $10, and the fresh apple pie with slices on top that costs $12. Sorry, these 7-inch pies are not sold by the slice. But at those prices, who cares? Each pie contains a succulent filling, but the secret is in the crust, claims Levi.
“Customers in here speak all sorts of languages, but they all love the apple pie,” he says.

Their cheesecake is light & fluffy, while still being extremely delicious and doesnt make you feel like you overindulged!I have also had the Key Lime Pie which is also excellent. It is tart & limey, but not too sweet or sugary like some others I have had.Their inventory goes quick so best to reserve your dessert in advance.
Truly great homemade pie! Grabbed a mini pumpkin pie with some whipped cream. 1 small pie is enough for 1 person who is really hungry or two who are not too hungry. If you order it to stay, they’ll heat up the pie for you! Nothing better than fresh HOT pie! They also have ice cream and different kinds of cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, etc. Something for everyone! I’ll definitely be back to try the Mississippi mud next time. Nom. Great customer service as well.
After searching frantically for a decent key lime pie in Manhattan, I finally found this place, I wasnt disappointed. I took the individual pie and I had hard time finishing it, dont be fooled by the picture, its plenty believe me. Bonus for their smooth and flavorful espresso
