A wonderfully easy recipe that even my young sister-in-law can make. She isnt the best cook in the world because she is new at it. But her family was impressed when she made this simple pie.

1 package cream cheese, softened

¼ cup white sugar

¼ cup sliced fresh strawberries

1 prepared graham cracker crust

Steps:

Mix cream cheese, white sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth. Stir 3/4 cup mashed strawberries into cream cheese mixture.
Beat heavy cream and confectioners sugar in a glass or metal bowl until stiff peaks form. Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the cream will form sharp peaks. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture until evenly mixed fold in remaining 1/4 cup sliced strawberries.
Spoon strawberry mixture into graham cracker crust. Chill at least 3 hours before serving.

McDonalds is getting into the holiday spirit with sweet returning favorite.

The fast food giant has brought back its beloved Holiday Pie for another year, the sweet offering available now through early January at participating locations in select regions nationwide.

First introduced 22 years ago in 1999, the mouthwatering pastry features a creamy smooth, vanilla custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles.

Its an alternative to the baked apple pie, which is available year-round on the menu at the Golden Arches.

That pie was first introduced at McDonalds back in 1968, though were initially fired as were all pies until baked pies took their spot in 1992. Throughout the years, other flavors offered have been too, like cherry, blueberry, banana, mango, sweet potato, and strawberry and cream.

Review of McDonalds new apple pies: A taste test. Last time I checked, McDonalds beloved baked apple pies werent broken. Not exactly a health food item, but those numbers are slightly better than the 270 calories, 14 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat and 34 grams of carbohydrates in the old pie.

Now, I cant say Ive ever had the real McDonalds pies. I think I might have tried the apple one before, but I definitely never tried the strawberry one. Anyway, when I asked K what he wanted for his birthday treat this year, he saidsomething with puff pastry, strawberry pie? hmm maybe cheesecake or cream cheese, maybe the McDonalds pies? and I was reminded that I had seen a recipe for a copycat of the McDonalds pies. It turned out that the recipe was for the apple turnovers, so I took inspiration from Bravetart to do my version.

So, I decided to try and add the cream side by adding some liquid cheesecake inside. It ended up not being worth it for the inside because you couldnt taste it. However, it was great for dipping/spreading on top of the finished pies.

You start by making pie dough and then cutting it into rectangles. The filling goes inside and you bake them. Pretty simple, right? Well the only challenge was getting a special ingredient for the filling: freeze dried strawberries. It took a bit to find them because 1) pandemic affecting grocery shopping and 2) my store moved everything around and also got rid of a bunch of products they used to carry. But I found them and was able to make the pies.

1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 Egg, beaten with 1 Tablespoon of water

Ignore the liquid cheesecake inside

Refrigerate the pies until firm, between 45 minutes to 4 hours.

Yup, toffee and strawberry are both gone, and some customers are not at all happy about it.

In a tweet, responding to an unhappy customer, the fast food company said it was discontinuing the dessert due to it being not very popular although it also cited sugar content and government recommendations among the reasons.

The company posted: Hi, the Toffee Sundae and Strawberry Sundae were removed from the McDonalds menu on Wednesday 26th September 2018, and they were removed because they werent very popular. The Government recommendations regarding sugar also played a part in the removal.

I have been baking this pie since my daughters were very small. They are now 40 and 42. So as you can see, I have been making this pie for a long time. It is always the one they request when we have BBQs in the summertime. I even make it for them in the winter when and if I can find fresh strawberries. I think you will like it also. My grand-daughter said I should name it To Die For Strawberry Cream Pie.

Weve fallen in love with this pie, and for good reason. Look at the tangy blueberry and smooth cream cheese all wrapped up in a flaky pie crust! Instagram food blogger was kind enough to share some snaps with the rest of us blueberry fans when it rolled out in Malaysia. This isnt McDonalds Malaysias only foray into blueberry treats, either.
