Innovate Design In Salisbury Featured On Bbc’s The Apprentice
Innovate Design’s Alastair Swanwick with Lord Sugar
A SALISBURY-BASED business has featured on BBC’s The Apprentice tonight – helping the candidates as they were put through their paces in a product design challenge.
Innovate Design, an invention development company in Endless Street, supported the teams who were tasked with creating a new electric toothbrush for children between the ages of six and eight as well as an app to go with it.
Alastair Swanwick, the founder of Innovate Design, said: “We recognised that this particular Apprentice task would be a huge challenge due to the incredibly tight timescales involved. However, we knew we had the right set of skills in-house to take it on – and we love a challenge.”
The Apprentice candidates came up with the design concepts and were helped by the company’s team to deliver the finished prototypes.
The customised brush handles were printed on rare 3D printers, while the character designs were replicated in the accompanying app with animated games.
“We assembled a multi-skilled team of product development experts to handle the full process from concept sketching and brush design to electronics and app development, character creation and packaging design. We found the candidates easy to work with and Im incredibly proud of what our team was able to create with them,” added Alastair.

Baking & Serving Tips

Baked
If your Vegan Apple Pie is already baked, please store it in the fridge. For best results, the pie should be consumed within 4 days of purchase. Before serving please remove from fridge and leave at room temperature for 45 minutes. To warm, bring to room temperature for 45 minutes, and then place in preheated oven at 350°F. Warm a 9 pie for 20 minutes and a 5 for 10 minutes.
Frozen
If your Vegan Apple Pie is frozen, please store in the freezer until you are ready to bake and consume. For best results, the pie should be baked within 3 months of purchase. To bake, place pie on baking sheet and place in preheated oven at 350°F. Bake a 9 for 90-120 minutes and a 5 for 50-60 minutes.
Once baked, cool the Vegan Apple Pie for a minimum of 1 hour before serving. The bottom of the pie tin should remain warm to the touch. If it is served too hot, the pies consistency will be too runny.
Tips
We ordered the Vegan Apple pie, Gluten free Key Lime and Vegan Blueberry for the family for my husbands bday. Loved all of themselves! We only wish for more Vegan options, as one of our kids has an egg allergy.

Bankers Told To Return To Desks As Restrictions End
Big banks, advertising firms and insurers have announced plans to return to the office after the government scrapped its work-from-home guidance for England with immediate effect.
However, most said flexible working arrangements would remain in place.
Some have questioned whether the move is premature and could worsen already-high staff absences.
But others said city centres hit hard by Omicron would get a much needed boost as commuters returned.
Banking group HSBC said its staff started returning to the office on Thursday, while Standard Chartered has asked employees to come in from Monday – although both lenders have flexible working arrangements in place.
Citigroup and Goldman Sachs also plan to resume office working.
Meanwhile Havas, a French advertising agency with 11,500 staff worldwide, told the BBC it would “fully reopen” its London office from Monday after more than a month of employees working from home.
Latest figures suggest that 37% of working UK adults did at least some work from home in 2020, up from 27% the previous year.
The government introduced its Plan B restrictions in December to battle the Omicron variant, but on Wednesday eased them saying infections had peaked nationally.
Along with the end of working-from guidance, the requirement in England for mandatory face coverings in public places and Covid passports will both be ditched from next Thursday.
