  • Be sure not to over-bake these bars. They will harden just a bit when you take them out of the oven so its ok if they seem soft.
  • I recommend placing these cookie bars in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before cutting into bars, just until the frosting has set. It will be easier and cleaner to cut into squares.
  • Use cookie cutters to make shapes..kids will love doing this!

Do I Have To Chill The Dough

Yes, chilling the dough is an extremely important step in this recipe! The dough will be too soft to shape and roll without chilling.

Be careful not to chill the dough for more than one hour though! Any longer and the cookies will turn out hard and crunchy.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the cake mix, oil, and eggs in a bowl to form the cookie batter.

A note about the oil: I always use olive oil when baking, but any neutral oil will work. Vegetable oil is a common substitute for these kinds of recipes.

Step 2: Drop the cookie batter by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. You can use parchment paper if you want for ease of cleanup.

You can add an extra step here if you want and roll the dough in more sprinkles for a little extra color.

If you are making them for a holiday you could use holiday themed colors!

Step 3: Bake the funfetti cookies at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes, until lightly browned on the bottoms.

How To Make This Oreo No

Also read: Birthday Cheesecake A Cookie Named Desire

I started with the base for my original No Bake Oreo Cheesecake and went from there. I knew there had to be sprinkles in the crust it was a birthday cheesecake. Duh! And I decided to pop them in the food processor along with the Oreos rather than adding them after. It doesnt chop the sprinkles too small, but makes them a little more manageable when pressing the crust into the pan and helps distribute them well throughout.

For the filling, I knew I wanted to use plenty of the Golden Birthday Cake Oreos and I had thought thatd be enough. They are so cake-y flavored when you eat them. Ultimately I decided I wanted more birthday cake flavor and added in the cake mix and some milk to offset the additional thickness it adds to the batter. It was a terrific choice! Cake batter flavor galore!

Between the Golden Oreos and the cake batter flavor going on, this cheesecake was a hit! And it turned out so cute and festive, I decided to take pictures and share the recipe. It wasnt originally in the plans, but I couldnt not share something this tasty. We all loved it and my birthday was appropriately celebrated. I hope you enjoy it too!

    What Are Cake Mix Cookies

As the name sounds, a cake mix is substituted for the usual flour and leavening agents in cookie recipes. Eggs and oil are added and the mix is baked as cookies.

I will say Ive found cookies more difficult to create from scratch in gluten-free form. Cakes, no problem. It may be being at altitude as well but Ive struggled with both adapting favorite gluten family recipes and creating recipes from scratch. The prospect of a shortcut method really had my interest.

    Cake Mix Cookie Ingredients

While the sprinkles are optional, they add a pop of color that is perfect for any celebration. Add in the classic cake batter flavor and you have an instant winning recipe. Here is what you need to get started:

    • Cake Mix: Specifically, a white cake mix or funfetti cake mix. I almost always have white cake mix on hand, thank you Smithâs case lot sale, but occasionally like to shake things up and opt for a funfetti.
    • Oil: Vegetable or canola oil are the only two weâve tried. They work interchangeably and give a moist cookie that is irresistible.
    • Eggs: Two large eggs, preferably at room temperature. Having room temp ingredients helps everything to mix evenly.
    • Sprinkles: I love to roll the cookie dough in the sprinkles before baking, but you can fold them directly into the batter. Jimmies work best, although you can use the small nonpareils. They tend to be a little more difficult to chew.

Step : Make Your Cookie Dough

    • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. I suggest an oven thermometer to be sure the oven is the right temperature! For example, my oven runs about 25 degrees too cold.
    • Line two baking trays with parchment paper and set aside.
    • In a large bowl with an electric mixer OR in the bowl of your standing mixer fitted with the paddle, place your box of cake mix, 1/3 cup oil, and 2 large eggs.
    • Blend well.
