What Makes Nicks Ice Cream Different
Unless youre from Sweden, Im going to go out on a limb and assume that you have no idea what Swedish-style ice cream actually is.
Unfortunately, I still cant seem to find a definition of it for you. BUT, I can break down what is unique about Nicks ice cream.
First and foremost, Nicks is keto-friendly, with each serving containing around 4-7g of total net carbs. If you were to eat an entire pint, it wouldnt be quite as keto-friendly anymore as youd be looking at around 20g of net carbs total.
But there are plenty of keto-friendly ice cream options out there on the market today. What really sets Nicks Ice Cream apart is the use of EPG.
EPG is a plant-based fat alternative that has the properties of fat without all of the calories. In other words, it lends that extra creamy texture that youd expect from ice cream, all while keeping it low calorie!
Nicks Ice Cream has the exclusive rights to use EPG in their low calorie ice cream, which really sets it apart from the competition.
If youre tired of having to wait for your low-calorie pint of ice cream to thaw out before eating, youre not going to run into that problem with Nicks.
Also unique to Nicks Ice Cream is their use of Perfect Day milk in their vegan line. Perfect Day uses a plant-based whey protein that is not derived from animals in their milk, making it completely vegan! But since it is actual whey protein, it ends up tasting like real-deal ice cream.
Nicks Ice Cream Keto Review
All of the brands ice creams are keto-friendly, but some more than others. For example, though Cookies and Kram is low in sugar and net carbs, it contains gluten, which is a no-no for some following a keto lifestyle.
The options showcased next in this Nicks Ice Cream review are totally keto-approved and arent limited to just ice cream. Well show you what we mean.
Lookin like a snack, Nicks Choklad Peanot Box isnt a sugar-laden, gut-bomb. Its actually a diet-friendly, low-sugar treat.
Some compare it to Snickers. But, us? We think its like Payday meets Milky Way. Tons of chewy nuts, rich caramel, and nougat, all coated in sugar-free chocolate.
The best part, perhaps, is that its only 180 calories, contains just 3 net carbs , and has 15 grams of protein. Move over chalky, dry keto-bars, theres a new boss in townhes a Swedish guy, totally sweet, super friendly. We think youll like him.
The Choklad Peanot Box contains 12 dreamy bars, but you can buy up to 5 boxes at a time.
Try them out or load up for $35-$175.
One of the best things on a long list of wonderful qualities of Nicks ice cream is that its diet-friendly treats can be enjoyed all the time. Because of that, the brand created a subscription service that delivers ice cream to your door at a schedule that fits your cravings.

Nicks And Minecraft Roll Out Their Limited Line Of Keto
Swedish-style frozen functional food company Nicks has officially released its creative collaboration with the hugely popular hit video game Minecraft. The functional brand and game have come together and created a limited edition series of four different flavors of Nicks keto-friendly ice cream, and theyre all fittingly packaged in rectangular containers as opposed to their usual cylinders.
The four flavors Nicks and Minecraft have introduced are completely new, starting with Enchanted Apple Pie, an apple pie-flavored ice cream featuring a swirl of graham cracker crumbles. Next, is Emerald Minta combining mint ice cream and peppermint chips, then Peanot Choklad Glowdust featuring peanut butter cups in a chocolate ice cream, and finally, Cake Blocka, a birthday cake-flavored ice cream with strawberry swirls and sprinkles.
The macros on the special edition Minecraft flavors of Nicks light, keto-friendly ice cream are similar to its many other keto-style ice cream options, keeping the net carbohydrates low at 4 to 5g a tub. There is no added sugar in any of the flavors, 15 to 24g of fat which is in line with a keto-type nutrition profile, a reasonable 9 to 12g of protein, and calories ranging between 270 to 370.

Nicks Ice Cream Reviews: What Do Customers Think
If youre reading this Nicks Ice Cream review, theres a good chance youve tried your fair share of bland low calorie or keto-friendly frozen treats. Ice creams with titles that sound great, but when you rush home, hurriedly whip them open, and dig in, something called Birthday Cake ends up tasting more like vanilla-flavored ice. Big whoop.
With Nicks special formulation, if our speculations are correct, his ice creams should be marvels in the diet-friendly world of frozen treats. To be sure, were going to need a lot more than speculations and dreamy titles to prove it.
For this, we turned to customer feedback, and we headed to all corners of the web to find it. So to get things started, we hit up the brands website to check out ratings there. Youll see what we found in the little list below:
- Salta Karamell: an average of 5/5 stars from 44 reviews
- Cookies and Kram: an average of 5/5 stars from 23 reviews
- Triple Choklad: an average of 5/5 stars from 61 reviews
- Vegan Strawbar Kram: an average of 5/5 stars from 11 reviews
- Choklad Peanot Box: an average of 5/5 stars from 94 reviews
We know this is a Nicks Ice Cream review, but the Choklad Peanut Box is calling our name. Plus, we want to give you a variety of feedback on a range of the brands products, so for now, well focus on the chocolate, but later, fill you in on the ice cream.

Nicks Swedish Light Ice Cream: Is It Better Than Halo Top
Nicks ice cream is a new competitor in the realm of low-calorie ice cream. It comes in pint-size containers with 16 flavor options such as lemon bar, birthday cake, mint chip, cookie dough, many of which ring in at less than 300 calories per pint. New to the table are seven vegan flavors such as strawberry cream, caramel swirl, and peanut butter fudge, which are also around 300 calories per pint.
I went ahead and tried the birthday cake, cookie dough, cookies and cream, and chocolate flavors of Nicks light ice cream from Ralphs, and I can say that they are definitely worth a try. As an ice cream lover, I have to admit that the swedish ice cream makers at Nicks are doing Gods work. In comparison to another popular light ice cream brand, Halo Top, Nicks ice cream is much more dense and creamy. It does not freeze as hard or get an icy texture like Halo Top and is not as fluffy as many Halo Top flavors tend to be. As for the taste, Nicks is on the sweeter side but captures the flavors they market. The birthday cake is my favorite, and Ill admit that the cookie dough and cookies and cream flavors taste very similar. Although I am a vanilla girl, the swedish chocolate is rich and hits the spot for chocolate cravings.

Nicks Mint Chokladchip Chocolate Chip
Cool minty ice cream mixed with flakes of chocolate270 calories per pint | 5 net carbs per serving
At first glance, youll notice this ice cream is light in color, not bright green like many mint-flavored products. The mint flavor is prominent and refreshing, but not overpowering.
You do have to dig a bit to find the larger chocolate mix-ins, but this is common with light ice creams.
Fortunately, I did not detect any strange aftertaste from the sugar alternatives.
Overall, I really like this flavor. I would definitely have this again.
Nicks Ice Cream Reviews
Nicks is out to change the world by revolutionizing the snacks we love to make them better for us and still great tasting. By using sweeteners that are derived from plants they are able to provide the sweetness that we love without the calories or sugar rush we dont.
The plant-based sweeteners that Nicks uses include Stevia, Sweet Fiber, Erythritol, Monk Fruit, Birch Sugar, and Allulose.
In addition to using plant-based sweeteners, Nicks also uses a plant-based fat called EPG. EPG gives the ice cream the creamy texture you would find in ice cream full of dairy fat, but without all of the calories. Compared to regular ice creams, Nicks has about 1/4 to 1/3 of the calories.
For our Nicks Ice Cream reviews, we received 6 pints of ice cream in the following flavors: Cherry Choka-Fläka, Cookies and Kräm, Sälta Karamell, Birthdäg Cake, Strawbär Swirl, and Butter Pekan. In addition, we received one Choklad Peanot Snack Bar. SHOP NOW> >

Nicks Peant Butter Cup
Peanut butter ice cream mixed with tiny peanut butter cups360 calories per pint | 5 net carbs per serving
I was happy to see that this pint has a peanut butter-flavored ice cream . This smart choice helps keep the mild peanut butter flavor the star of the show.
The description mentions tiny peanut butter cups, but the mix-ins I encountered seem more like little chocolate chunks.
As with the other flavors, there was no aftertaste and the ice cream had a creamy, pleasant mouthfeel.
While this is not the best peanut butter ice cream Ive tried, it is pretty darn good for being a light ice cream.

Nick’s Swedish Ice Cream
Swedish ice cream. I didn’t know it was a “thing”, but given my love of ice cream, I was excited to discover a new brand, Nick’s.
There are two things you might notice when you first look up Nick’s ice cream. It might be the “funny” spelling of things, like “Mint Chokladchip”, “Peanöt Butter Cup”, or “Birthdäg Cake”. Or it might be the nutrition stats, that hover under 300 calories … per pint. At least one of these things is certainly part of what makes the ice cream “Swedish” … at least in name.
“Sweet Natural Science. All our sweeteners are carefully crafted from plants selected for their specific flavor. But it’ll probably just taste like delicious ice cream to you.”
So what makes Nick’s so low calorie? It is the use of interesting sweeteners, in part. Not just Stevia, but also soluble corn fiber , and erythritol . Add this up, and you get a pint for the usual calorie load of a single scoop. Of course, there are many low-cal ice creams on the market these days, and, well, most really aren’t very good.
I was eager to try some flavors, and selected a few pints fairly randomly when I saw them at the grocery store, without doing research first.
|Swedish Cookie Dough.|
“Vanilla ice cream swirled with chocolate and mixed with chunks of sugar cookie dough.”
“Rich, mapley ice cream with bits of pecans.”
There were minimal bits of pecan, truly, “bits of pecans” as they say, not larger halves as is more common .
Nicks Ice Cream Reviews: Bottom Line
Nicks Ice Creams delivers low fat, low calorie, and keto-friendly Swedish-style ice cream directly to your door.
We love that this ice cream is sweetened with sweeteners derived from plants, is free from artificial sweeteners and synthetic ingredients, has no added sugar, and gets its creamy texture from plant-based fat. We also love that this low-net carb ice cream actually tastes good. Out of the 6 flavors that we tried, 5 of them tasted wonderful with no fake/chemical taste.
And while we love the taste of this low-calorie ice cream, buying online is more expensive than buying in-store and more expensive than most other healthy ice cream alternatives. In addition, shipping is extra when you buy fewer than 12 pints online. Buying Nicks ice cream in-store is a less expensive option if you can find it locally and get the flavors you want.
Compared to other keto-friendly ice creams, Nicks is similar to some by using plant-based sweetener alternatives, but what sets them apart is the plant-based fat that they use which adds to the creamy texture and reduces the number of calories per pint.
We would recommend Nicks to anyone looking for a low-calorie, keto-friendly ice cream, those managing their blood sugar and want to enjoy a sweet treat without added sugar, and anyone on a diet. SHOP NOW> >
