I really liked the taste, texture, and size of a slice of this bread. Its has a slightly nutty flavor and the only reason I dont give it a 5-star score is that it did seem to impact my blood sugar somewhat

One of the positives of this bread, aside from the great taste, is that I found it at my local grocery store as well as online so its easy to get your hands on.

The main ingredients in this bread are potato flour and other wheat flours, so its gluten-free, which can make it a good option for those looking to avoid gluten.

This is, in my opinion, one of the best low carb breads available. Each bun is the size of a regular hamburger bun and they have a light and fluffy texture. And most importantly, they taste like a wheat bun.

I like to toast my bread and this bread toast beautifully without melting or turning to cardboard.

A bun is 140 calories and those come from different fibers, fat, milk, and dairy sources. So although low in carbs, the bread is not suitable for anyone who doesnt eat gluten, soy, dairy, or eggs.

Base Culture Keto Bread: Seven Nut & Seed

What sets this bread apart is that its not only paleo-friendly, but also kosher, dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, and GMO-free, making it the best option for those with food allergies and sensitivities. Rather than wheat flour, Base Culture uses a blend of nuts and seeds, potato flour, and arrowroot, lending a hefty dose of healthy fats and a sweet, nutty flavor that customers cant seem to get enough of. Best of all, there are only 4 grams of net carbs per slice.

Can I Substitute Coconut Flour For The Almond Flour Or Make Other Changes To This Easy Keto Bread Recipe

For best results, follow this recipe as written! There is no substitute for the hearts of palm simply find a different keto bread recipe. Coconut flour is not an acceptable sub for almond flour you may be able to use sunflower flour for a nut free alternative, but I have not yet tested that theory. As soon as I do I will post the results.

Since the original posting, Ive updated this Keto HOP bread recipe with a few improvements based on reader feedback! Thank you!

Changes include adding weight amount to the hearts of palm forming into a shorter loaf for taller slices, increasing the temperature and cooking time, providing nutrition information by loaf as well as slice to account for slice thickness preferences, adding more coconut flour to absorb moisture, and increasing baking powder to lighten density.

If you tried the original version youll have to let me know what you think of the improvements! They are subtle but I do think the overall texture is even better and the flavor isnt really affected at all

Does It Matter What Kind Of Almond Flour I Use

YES. When people have issues baking my recipes its almost always because they arent using a good quality blanched SUPER FINE almond flour. And unfortunately what some companies are now calling super fine is NOT actually super fine.

Your almond flour should be like a powder. If its gritty, or has chunks in it, its going to affect the results in any keto baking recipe. A really good super fine almond flour will make all the difference in this Keto Bread recipe and any other its worth paying a few extra dollars for the premium stuff.

Brands I recommend are Wellbees Honeyville, and Kirkland I havent tried every brand out there but I can say that of the ones I have tried, Im not a fan of the Bobs Red Mill or Anthonys.

A Quick And Easy Meal Sandwiches Are As Down

I used to miss sandwiches. I love how easy they are to fix, and now filling they can be. Slap some meat and cheese, with creamy mayo and we are good to go. Dont like meat or cheese? Peanut butter and jelly to the rescue!

Even kids can fix sandwiches by themselves, at an early age. We would use sandwiches for our home ec time. The kids made their own lunch, and I got to get some work done in peace. It was a win-win since they were learning how to cook for themselves and I could get some time off.

However, regular bread has a lot of carbs. There are brands that can have upwards of 24 grams of carbs per slice! Thats more than a days worth of carbs for a lot of people. Since it takes 2 slices to make a traditional sandwich, well, you get the idea.

Soybean Oil is an ultra cheap ingredient and if you consume products with it, know this: you are buying food that is being made IN THE CHEAPEST WAY possible.

Theres no other reason the company is using soy oil in their product other than: cost. Which should make you question everything, including: the product youre consuming & the company behind it.

Potato Fiber was one ingredient I had never heard of. But this made all the difference. It is a Fiber from potatoes. I read about it a few years ago, but I was reluctant to try it just because it always said potatoes. I did not believe that it had no or very few carbs.

Fiber Flour made out of potatoes is a popular ingredient in a low-carb world in Sweden and Germany. For your information, it has only 8g of carbs in 100 grams , and it contains 65g of Fiber.

After we saw the bread, we saved the recipe, and I ordered 1small box of Fiber to try.

Since my daughter is also a T1 diabetic, we had the pleasure of seeing what happens to her blood sugar after consuming it. I can tell you a STRAIGHT LINE. This is magical. The bread tastes like real bread and does not raise blood sugar.

Where Do I Buy Hearts Of Palm

Hearts of palm is typically sold in cans or jars. When I lived in the states I could get large jars at Costco or other big box stores for pretty cheap. You can also find it in cans at most grocery stores in the vegetable aisle usually where youd find canned artichoke hearts. Not sure why they group them together maybe as a specialty item? If you dont see them there, check the international aisle with the Latin American brands like Goya.

If you cant find hearts of palm in the store, case for about 0.20 per ounce, which isnt a bad idea since youre going to want to keep these on hand once you try the bread recipe.
