Do you ever tell the kids they can have A friend over and then the next thing you know, youve got more than a handful of kids and just as many parents hanging out? Just me? No. It cant be.
Since we spend most of our summer hanging at our own pool, we end up with tons of people here. Sometimes it really is just one or two but most of the time it turns into a big to-do. Each play date turns into a full blown pool party, complete with food and dessert.
Something I have learned along the way, is that I can feed everyone and keep it easy at the same time. I make sure my freezer is stocked with burgers and hot dogs and as of late Ive realized that having dessert staples like Marie Callenders® Pies and Reddi-wip® is a huge time saver. Cooking Directions For Baking Marie Callenders Pot Pies
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Remove pot pie from outer carton leave pot pie in paper tray. Wrap crust edge with a strip of aluminum foil.
Cook on baking sheet 60 minutes. Remove carefully its hot! Let stand 5 minutes to complete cooking.
Check that pot pie is cooked thoroughly. Internal temperature needs to reach 165 F as measured by a food thermometer in several spots.
The crust will be golden brown, and steam will rise from the filling. Enjoy!

Apple And Caramel Pie In A Mason Jar Lid
Ingredients:
1 Granny Smith apple, cored, peeled and diced into small chunks2 Tbsp brown sugar
Egg or milkCoarse sugar
6 small mason jar lidsCookie sheet
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place the apple chunks in a bowl. Add brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon. Mix together and set aside.
Roll out pie dough. Using the mason jar lids, cut out pie dough about 1/4 inch larger than the lids. You will need pie dough for both pieces of the lids. You will need to take the scraps and roll out the dough to make enough for six lids.
Make sure the mason jar lids have the metal part facing up and the rubber part on the bottom. Place the larger piece dough in the lids and fit around.
Evenly distribute apple filling among jars. Add about a handful of caramel bits to each pie.
Place the smaller pie dough pieces on top and seal around the pie. You can also make a fluted edge or your favorite pie design.
Make a couple of slits on the top of your pies. Brush either milk or egg wash over the top of the pies. Sprinkle coarse sugar over the top.
Prepare a baking sheet by placing parchment paper on top. Place the lids on the cookie sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.

Ever since buying an ice cream maker last year, Ive been wanting to make apple pie ice cream, and now Im going to enjoy every bite!
Some apple pie ice creams use ingredients like cookies and apple pieces to simulate the apple pie flavor. Not this recipe! To make this apple pie ice cream, Im actually using a real apple pie.
I picked up a Marie Callenders® Dessert Pies Dutch Apple Pie at Walmart in the frozen food section, on the dessert aisle. I also picked up some Reddi-Wip® to top it off in the dairy case.
Plan ahead to make this apple pie ice cream, because youll need to allow time to completely chill the cooked pie in the refrigerator before incorporating it into the ice cream. Once the pie is chilled, this apple pie ice cream can come together very quickly. You can serve it soft right out of the churn, but if you want firm scoops, youll need to freeze it for a few hours or overnight.
Once youve dished up your apple pie ice cream, give it a topping of Reddi-Wip just before serving.

Is it freezing in your area? It is more than nippy here and every time I step outside I just want to put something in my tummy that warms me up! When I need a quick, delicious meal, first thing I grab when I am shopping at WalMart is a Pot Pies. You cant beat that homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken, in a golden, perfectly flaky crust thats made from scratch. I always find myself grabbing one or two because it tastes as if you spent hours cooking it but it only takes minutes in the microwave.
My niece and dad are fans of these homemade tasting pot pies too. Whenever I am home, I am always cooking for the family. The kids all have their favorites for me to make them. My niece Sydni requested a chicken pot pie the last time I was home but I just did not have time to make it. This Marie Callenders Chicken Pot Pie saved the day.
For my niece, dessert is always a plus. I was trying to come up with something I could make that was quick, tasty and would go with the pot pies. These little apple pies also made in a crust were the perfect accompaniment. Not only amazing in taste, they were small and the perfect size for a little after dinner treat.
I mean seriously! They are just too cute for words!
