Our family was visiting Fort Worth and tried this restaurant on a Saturday evening. No wait for a table of 6. We sat on the patio. Nice little area for people watching. Our group ordered a large salad and three pizzas to share. We had…plenty food and it was all delicious. A couple of us also had the prickly pear and regular margaritas and they were great! Wonderful experience while in Fort Worth.More

9pm Saturday. Had a huge salad and a fantastic pizza. Server was super personable and the greeter at the front door took ownership like a manager/owner- she seemed like she really cared. There were lots of smiles in the dining room from staff and the…prices were very fair. Great experience.More

We met a Fort Worth friend here for pizza and beer. The service was friendly, and the pizzas were very good, especially the burrata pesto option. The other menu items looked good, but pizza is the star-a thin, crispy crust with very fresh toppings. Our Top 5 Fort Worth Pie Bakeries

Its almost Thanksgiving, and were starting to get excited. Here at Dr. Kus office, our favorite part of the holidays is pie! There arent that many occasions throughout the year where its acceptable to sit down with two or three different desserts, after all. Even on your birthday, its still a little weird. But not Thanksgiving! And, while homemade pies are delicious, we arent all master bakers. Thats why we like to leave it to the experts.

So check out our list of the best pie-makers in Fort Worth, and let us know if you agree! Were pretty sure were right, but were more than happy to continue our research. Our delicious, delicious research.

1) Paris Coffee Shop

This local icon has got to come first on our list. Sure, there are more innovative bakers out there, but where else can you introduce your children to the very same pecan pie you grew up eating? Paris Coffee Shop has been owned by the same family since it opened in 1926 and, after all that practice, we think theyve pretty much got it down. Go for the apple or cherry pie if you must and there are no wrong choices here but these guys are justifiably famous for their coconut meringue. Besides, with breakfast patrons that frequently include former Mayor Mike Moncrief and local celebrity food columnist Bud Kennedy, youve got to figure the family behind Paris Coffee Shop knows what theyre doing.

2) Blue Bonnet Bakery

Orders due by Monday, Nov. 24. Pick up by Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 5 pm.

Dallas Favorite Emporium Pies Brings Signature Slices To The Southside

A decade after its first location opened in Dallas, Emporium Pies finally brings its slices of comfort and joy and red velvet chess to Fort Worth.

Crystal Wise

If theres no one at the window, look down. The buzzer is right by your foot. Give it a gentle kick, and someone will magically appear at the window, ready to take your order.

Megan Wilkes and Mary Sparks have, seemingly, thought of everything when it comes to opening a pie shop amid a pandemic, right down to installing a no-touch buzzer designed to alert employees that hungry pie-lovers have arrived. The first Fort Worth location of their Emporium Pies, found in Winton and Waits old spot on South Main, wont even have inside seating until later this year, and thats only if the pandemic continues its downward trend.

We knew opening a location at a time like this would be tricky, Wilkes says. So, were trying to be as conscientious as possible. At the same time, were super-anxious to get Fort Worth open.

The two came up with an excellent COVID-friendly game plan to get their much-anticipated Fort Worth debut off the ground: Open the restaurant for window service only for now, then the dining room later this year as, hopefully, the pandemic continues to taper.

Ever since the original Emporium Pies opened in Dallas Bishop Arts district a decade ago , the two have been besieged with requests to open a Fort Worth store.

Bonafide Best Pie Shop In Texas Finds Sweet New Niche In Rockwall

A local pie purveyor that was named the best pie shop in Texas has found a new home. Bonafide Betties Pie Company, an independently owned shop that turns out a spectacular line of pies, will open in a former mechanic’s shop at 109 E. Washington St. in Rockwall, right in the center of town.

Owner and baker Brittany Hardin, who’s been working on the space along with fielding fervent inquiries from eager customers for a year, says she’d love to be open in time for the holidays.

“The building was last inhabited in the ’50s, it’s sat vacant for a long time,” she says. “We’re putting in plumbing, AC, we started from ground zero.”

It’ll be a small space, comprising 660 square feet, but big enough to sell her pies and bake them on-site.

“It’s going to be super tiny and cozy which is my favorite,” Hardin says. “I like old school and throwback. I’m not trying to be Sprinkles we’re a small operation.”

Bonafide Betties began when Hardin started selling pies at farmers markets, and wanted to establish a more reliable presence. That came in 2016, when her mother Denise, who owned a furniture store, set aside a back corner of the store where Brittany could sell her pies.

The operation grew steadily until 2018, when their lives changed dramatically: The week before Thanksgiving, Bonafide Betties was named by USA Today as the best pie shop in all of Texas, part of a story about the best places for pie in each state.

Hardin had no idea she was even nominated.
