Classic Knorr Spinach Dip

You can use any type of bread you wish but Im partial to this easy Brioche recipe. Once your loaf is baked, cut off 1/3 of the top of the bread and reserve. Then scoop out the insides of the loaf being careful not to bust through the side of the bread.

Transfer the Knorr Spinach Dip to the bread bowl and serve with the reserved bread torn into bite sized pieces.

Youre going to love this bit of nostalgia in your perfect party dip recipe. Serve alongside assorted vegetables and crackers for a complete dip party.

Tips For Making The Best Spinach Dip

  • The key to the perfect dip consistency is to drain the spinach well. Be sure to squeeze out as much liquid as you can after cooking the leaves. For best results, use your hands!
  • Frozen spinach is great for this recipe. But if you dont like its stringy texture, go for fresh.
  • This dip is already incredibly addictive as it is, and it doesnt even contain cheese. Can you just imagine how much more phenomenal it would be if you added mozzarella, parmesan, and cream cheese to the mix? Try it and let me know what you think!
  • Spinach and artichoke are a perfect combination. Go ahead and add some sliced artichoke hearts in there for more flavor and nutrition.
  • Everything tastes better with bacon, so why not throw in some crumbled bacon bits to the mix?
  • If you want to make your dip a little bit fancier, thats nothing some sun-dried tomatoes cant do.
  • For a healthier option, swap out sour cream for Greek yogurt.
  • For a meatier flavor and texture, drop half a cup of cooked mushrooms in there.
  • Love seafood? This dip tastes amazing with baby shrimp!
  • Serve the dip in a brioche bread bowl for a prettier presentation. Put a handful of crackers and veggie sticks on the side to complete the look.

How Long Is Knorr Spinach Dip Good For

Knorr Spinach Dip can safely be stored in the refrigerator up to 4 days. Just place the dip in an airtight container or cover the container in plastic wrap. Note, if you served your dip in a bread bowl, the bread will be soggy and stale after a day. Therefore, remove the dip from the bread bowl before storing in the refrigerator.

Put all the frozen spinach in a colander and let it thaw. Once it is thawed, you can push it down into colander to drain with your hands or a wooden spoon. Get as much water out as possible.

Let the cream cheese sit on the counter for about ½ hour. It just needs to be soft enough to mix.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients by stirring with a heavy spoon or spatula. When it is thoroughly mixed, put in a storage container until ready to serve. It tastes best when it has had a few hours for flavors to develop.

Note: The original recipe includes water chestnuts, however, I tend to find that they overpower recipes easily, so I omit them.

The traditional way of serving this was to hollow out a round loaf of pumpernickel bread. Any round loaf would work as well. Chop the hollowed-out bread into bite size pieces to serve alongside the dip.

Serve with the bread cubes and cut up vegetables.

You dont have to serve with the bread though! Put your spinach dip in a pretty dish and serve with cut up vegetables, crackers, pretzels, or whatever takes your fancy.

    Storing + Freezing + Make

    • How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge? I usually only keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days.
    • Can You Freeze This? Unfortunately, you cannot freeze this knorr spinach dip with water chestnuts recipe. It would do serious damage to the deliciously creamy texture.
    • Make-Ahead Tips: Technically, this dip is best made a little ahead because it gives it time to set up and develop one cohesive flavor profile. It can also be made the night before, if that works better for your schedule. I suggest storing your dip in an airtight container in the fridge until youre ready to serve or spoon it into your bread bowl.

Buti Really Believe That If You Try It This Way You Can Never Go Back To Frozen Spinach

See more Easy Recipes here. My daughter and I are fresh food lovers, since we prefer vegetables cooked al dente when we have them in soups and casseroles. I think when they are cooked for too long a period of time, they become like baby food. And that texture doesnt appeal to me.

Hey, havent you seen a baby taste some slimy green stuff ! They dont like it either!

We love the crunch of the water chestnuts and even add a little extra of those, but the secret to getting the best dip is..use fresh spinach, not frozen. This will will bulk up the dip a little but then it serves more than the traditional method.

If you have grown your own fresh spinach, you are awesome. Just pick about a pound of the small leaves to use in this recipe. And grab 4 or 5 green onion sticks while youre out there in your garden. Did you bring a basket?

If not fresh from your garden, youll need to buy a large bag of the baby spinach leaves and onions. Wash and dry on a paper towel. We remove the stems and just use the leaves but you may not want to go to the trouble.

Slice and cross cut the leaves into small pieces. Fresh uncooked spinach adds such a nice crisp crunch to the dip. It is SO good this way!

And the other change-out is your dipper! Get a couple of baguettes, the skinny long ones, crispy on the outside but soft inside. Have them slice it at the bakery or slice it yourself and you will have a whole bagful of chips to use for the dip.

    An Easy Cold Spinach Dip

You wont find an easier dip to make than this cold spinach dip recipe! Its a no-bake dip served chilled, which means no turning on the oven and just a bit of chill time! This dip is thick, creamy, cheesy, and perfect for dipping chips, pretzels, bread, crackers, and veggie sticks!

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 10 regular muffin cups with non stick cooking spray. Unroll package of french bread loaf and slice into 10 equal size slices, about 1 inch thick. Press each slice into about a 3 inch round, I did this by pressing in between my hands. Press into the bottom and up sides of the muffin cup. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir spinach until wilted, about 3 minutes then add garlic, cook and stir for another minute then turn heat off.
  • Place cream cheese, sour cream, cooked spinach and garlic, smoked paprika, garlic salt, salt and pepper into a medium bowl. Mix until well combined. With a medium cookie scoop, scoop dip into each of the centers of bread bowls. Top evenly with shredded cheese and bake for 15-17 minutes until just turning brown on edges. Remove and let cool for 3-5 minutes before removing from oven.

    • Frozen Spinach Draining the spinach well is a great way to make sure this dip is nice and thick. I usually just dump the thawed spinach out of the package into a tea or other small towel and wring out the excess water.
    • Using frozen spinach is one of the things that makes this dip such a cinch to put together, but if you want to try using fresh, just steam about 1 ½ pound and chop it as a great substitute. Youll want to drain the water out of it as well.
  • Knorr Vegetable recipe mix Whats in that packet, anyway? Carrots, onions, garlic, tomatoes, leeks, cabbage, peas, and broccoli . Theres also a little bit of soy sauce for both salt and an umami flavor that makes this packet a pretty epic seasoner all on its own. Its so flavorful, in fact, that you can actually make a dip straight from the packet.
  • sour cream I use regular, not low fat. Feel free to switch it if you want to save some calories!
  • mayonnaise I use Best Foods!
  • water chestnuts Believe it or not, water chestnuts arent really nuts at all. Theyre aquatic root vegetables that can be prepared in many different ways. Our canned version has a nice little crunch that enhances your original spinach dip and lots of other dishes. Youll want to drain them really well and give them a coarse chop. Spinach Dip Bread Bowl is one of my favorite appetizer recipes to make for a party. Whether I am hosting the party at my home or attending one, this is one of quick and easy recipes to make.

One of the greatest things about this recipe is it travels well! Plus as an added bonus you can make it ahead of time. I always make it the day or night before I need it. The dip also taste better the longer it can sit, so overnight is a good time frame. This gives all the spices time to marinate together. If you are short on time you need to at least let it sit two hours or longer. I keep it in a bowl in the fridge overnight and right before serving, spoon it into the bread bowl.
