INDIANAPOLIS Nothing Bundt Cakes is inviting customers to celebrate a major milestone with free cake.
On Thursday, September 1, the company is giving out free mini bundt cakes to the first 250 customers at locations across North America to celebrate its 25th birthday. Each of those recipients will receive an individually packaged Confetti Bundtlet, the bakery chain said.
There will also be an online contest offering a grand prize of a $25,000 birthday party. Twenty-five runners-up will receive a $100 Nothing Bundt Cakes gift card.
Fans can enter from Sept. 125 and sharing what winning would mean to them.
Winners will be announced in October.
Nothing Bundt Cakes has nearly 450 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The bakeries offer four cake sizes in nine flavors, including Red Velvet, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Lemon, and Confetti.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the local bakeries. Theres something about walking into a little mom-and-pop shop with warm, sugary, floury smells that hit you like a wave. Its someones passion and dream, and theres no better way to support them than paying a visit to try out some of their sweet confections! Here they are, in no particular order:
Located in the heart of the ViBe District, Prosperity Kitchen Pantry works in small batches and only uses the best ingredients. They take their time and bake with care, hand-forming each creation, whether a delicate pastry or a hearty loaf of bread. They also believe that agriculture should be practiced responsibly and sustainably. I asked for their best-selling item, and apparently sourdoughs were the crowd favorite! During the day, youll find a variety of breads and pastries, but in the evening they transition to selling pizza. Its definitely a cool place grab something fresh-baked, sweet or savory!

Nothing Bundt Cakes Opens In Newport News
A new business selling bundt cakes is now open at Tech Center in Newport News.
Nothing Bundt Cakes hosted its grand opening Jan. 12 that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, though it has been open since Dec. 30, said store franchise co-owner Sherry Whitaker, who is in business with her husband Robert.
The store, which sells party-related gifts like balloons, greeting cards and serving platters in addition to bundt cakes, is the first store in Virginia.
Were excited about that, Sherry Whitaker said.
The couple is back in the area after living in Huntsville, Ala., where they got bundt cakes for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.
Nothing Bundt Cakes offers cakes in several sizes, from the bite-sized Bundtinis that are sold by the dozen, single-serving Bundtlets and full-sized cakes.
They are available in 10 flavors, with chocolate chocolate chip, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry and lemon among the most popular, Sherry Whitaker said.

Chipotle restaurants to close briefly Feb. 8
Chipotle restaurants in Newport News, Hampton and Williamsburg will be closed during peak lunch hours Feb. 8 as part of a company-wide initiative to discuss food safety changes and other matters.
Leaders will answer questions from employees and thank our employees for their hard work through this difficult time, said Chipotle spokeswoman Danielle Moore to the Daily Press.
The restaurants will open at 3 p.m. that day, Moore said.

The cakes are good and the icing is great. Staff was nice, helpful and friendly. We ordered from things that were already made, so not hard. Their cakes taste like MmmM. If MmMm had a flavor thats what all their cakes taste like! I dont know if it is their buttercream or what, but regardless of flavor, the cakes are moist and delicious. I wish they had a closer location inHampton, but they are definitely worth the drive to Newport News. Park in the back and walk up because parking in the front is brutal next to Navy Federal and Mooyah Burgers & Fries.
