    • Peel and cube potatoes and set into a pot of water and bring to a boil. Cook them until a fork slides in the potatoes easily.
    • Add the 3 cans of soup and drained can of corn to the meat. Set over med to med/high heat and stir occasionally until the juices thicken extra thick.
    • Remove and drain the potatoes when they are ready. Add the butter and milk. Mash to remove any potato chunks and use your hand mixer to mix well while salting to your taste.

    Shepards Pie Recipe Done Two Ways

    Its super frustrating when you try to look up a recipe that would be easy to do using a slight mommy hack and you cant find a thing on it so you just figure it out on your own. That is how this recipe was born and came to be known as the Campbell soup Shepards pie recipe. This can be done in two ways which are both very quick and easy.

    Mainly it became this way due to not having a lot of time to cook in the evening so I came up with an easy crockpot part of the recipe to cut out time and make it taste delicious. You can also do this stovetop which turns out delicious as well and you dont have to use Campbells soup.

    It still goes in the oven and is covered with mashed potatoes and believe me it tastes amazing!!! I only believe in making food that tastes good otherwise what is the point?!

    I usually only eat Shepherd’s Pie when it’s on the menu at a restaurant, but this version is so quick and easy that I could make it at home. This is comfort food, and would definitely be welcome on the dinner table. When making this, I would use lean ground beef and Healthy Request cream of mushroom soup. Instead of using mashed potato flakes, I would make my own mashed potatoes.

    Oh my word does this look delicious! Nothing screams comfort food like Shepherd’s Pie. This recipe sound very similar to the one I grew up eating. I’m wondering if you could substitute any kind of cream soup instead of cream of mushroom? I’m just not the biggest fan of mushrooms. Maybe a cream of cheddar? Something I like to do with my Shepherd’s Pie is to sprinkle a tiny bit of parmesan cheese on top of the potatoes. It gives the toppings a little bit of crunch. So good.

    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1 can Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
    • 1 tablespoon ketchup
    • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 1/3 cup instant mashed potato flakes or buds


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

    This is a quick and easy casserole I made up. It’s great for people on the go. Everyone I have made it for has enjoyed it.

    1 lb lean ground beef, browned and drained
    1 can Campbell’s chunky ready to serve vegetable soup
    1 can mixed vegetables, drained
    1 package instant potato flakes
    1 -2 cup cheese, shredded


    • Prepare potato flakes according to package directions, using 1-2 packages depending on how thick you want them to be on top of casserole.
    • Mix ground beef, vegetable stew, and mixed vegetables in large mixing bowl.
    • Layer ground beef/ veggie mixture on bottom of large baking dish.

    1 carton CAMPBELL’S® 30% Less Sodium Ready to Use Chicken Broth
    3 green onions, finely chopped, light and dark green parts divided
    ½ tablespoon salt
    1 ½ pounds lean ground chicken
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
    2 cups frozen peas and carrots
    ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese


    • Cook potatoes in saucepan of boiling water for 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and mash with 2/3 cup of the broth, green parts of onions, and salt. Keep warm.

The old recipe was added way back in 2011 and wasnt a very authentic recipe. So we decided to create a new recipe for Shepherds pie.
