Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop Now Open In Arlington And Coming Soon To Fort Worth

The march of this decadent mini-chain inches ever closer to Fort Worth, with the opening of its newest location on Collins Street in Arlington. And, other franchisees are currently scouting the perfect spot to plant the first Fort Worth Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop.

Jennifer Stallons, director of sales and development, confirms that it won’t be long before Fort Worth finally gets its own piece of the pie. Our newest franchisee is in the site selection phase now, looking for the ideal location on the West Side , she says. The first Fort Worth Buttermilk Sky will hopefully be open this summer.

Known for its Southern custard-style buttermilk pie, the smooth buttermilk filling is a cross between a chess pie and a custard. Another popular flavor is the I-40, with its rich mix of pecans, chocolate chips and a sprinkle of toasted coconut in a sweet shortbread crust.

Franchisee Pam Pierson opened in Arlington on Saturday, and she is ramping up slowly with a limited menu including: Chewy Chocolate Chip, the I-40, Key Lime and, of course, Buttermilk. Chocolate Cream Pie will be the next to appear on Wednesday, followed by Peanut Butter Cream hopefully by next weekend. Pies are available in the standard 9-inch size, a personal 4-inch pie or in the 2-inch bite-size.

The store originated in Knoxville, Tennessee, founded by Scott and Meredith Layton in 2014.

Just take my money please, I need your pie’s! It’s always fun surprising the family with a sweet treat. I went big and got a full pie but they have smaller options. My suggestion is to get 3 or 4 small pies and try them. My favorite are key lime and then chocolate, the crust on the chocolate is amazing. Actually, can we request the chocolate pie crust cookie!?!?

Made in the shop right at closing and owner was so joyful to see us. He was friendly and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. I bought the 4 count personal size pies and all of them were absolutely delicious. So creamy and mouthwatering. I will definitely be back!

Pie Smash With Shelby And Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop

While continuing to search out and make connections with fellow Fort Worth businesses, I came across Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop Fort Worth. Their pies come highly recommended from others in the community and I thought it would be another great spin on a Cake Smash Session. The hardest part of planning and carrying out this smash was choosing the flavor for the pie. What flavor do babies like best? Should a baby have peanut butter at age one? What will look best in the images? When I visited their website I immediately began to drool. So many delectable options, I could almost smell them through my screen. After doing a little reading I learned that Scott and Laura Anderson are the owners of the Ft. Worth pie shop and have serving pies there since November 2019. I decided I needed to go into the store and see the pies in person. The Anderson’s pie shop is adorable and smells like heaven. After running my eyes over every pie, twice, I decided on Coconut Cream, those gorgeous peaks could not be ignored.

Miss Shelby was the lucky one-year-old lady to join me in this pie smash. She was the calmest, most relaxed baby.

Her smile! So angelic, I could not get over it. I definitely “awwed” out loud when it came across my screen during editing.

Her first bite of Coconut Cream pie. I am not quite sure if this look is one of surprise at the taste or surprise at the funny noises I was making to get her to look at the camera. She was very focused on looking at the sumptuous pie.

Homey New Bakery Tenders Traditional Southern Pies In Mansfield

Pie has arrived, pie is here: Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop has opened a new shop in Mansfield, at 3150 East Broad St. #110.

According to a release, the bakery is owned by the Sheriff family, who have lived in the Mansfield community for more than a decade.

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop is a chain founded in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2012. It made its local debut in 2016 with a branch in Colleyville.

They offer scratch-made pies in four- and nine-inch sizes. Traditional pies like buttermilk, chocolate cream, coconut cream, Key lime, apple pie, and pecan are served year-round.

Seasonal pies include lemon icebox and strawberry pie. Specials might include a buttermilk pie with blackberries, or a chocolate-mint brownie pie. They also do thumbprint cookies with creamy fillings.

They also have a homey atmosphere, from the white-washed walls to the merchandise for sale in a cupboard, designed to create a nostalgic experience.

Founders Scott and Meredith Layton own and operate the original Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Knoxville. There currently are 11 Buttermilk Sky Pie Shops, located in Texas and the Southeast.

In addition to Mansfield, Texas locations already open include Colleyville, Allen, Frisco, and Midland, and there are two more coming soon, in Arlington and Plano. Pie for everyone.

With pies ranging in size from individual to full size, as well as cookies and other offerings at times, your sweet tooth will love this place. It is brand new and was swamped for Christmas. We talked them into a last-minute order of a 9″ pecan and 9″ Key Lime. They are tasty and sweet enough to cut in small slices, but really deserve to be good-sized slices. Attempting to say anything else constructive would be a waste of space. The only way to assess Buttermilk Sky is in person. Go buy a pie, and make certain they are here for next year!

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees .
• Beat eggs until frothy add butter, sugar and flour. Beat until smooth.
• Stir in buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice and nutmeg pour into pie shell.
• Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, or until center is firm.

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop Lands In Fort Worth

The menu at Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop features classics such as key lime and coconut cream, and new flavors, like their I-40 pie, which has pecans, chocolate and coconut.

A Tennessee-based bakery chain has chosen Fort Worth to be the home of its newest spot.

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, which is one of 25 locations scattered across the south, will have its grand opening at their 6120 Camp Bowie location Friday, with events kicking off at 10 a.m. There will be pie giveaways throughout the day, and the first 50 people in line will receive a card for free mini pie for a year.

20 percent of all sales during their grand opening will be given to 10-7 Outdoors, which plans hunting and fishing trips for children of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

My wife and I were both raised in Fort Worth, and when we talked to the franchise about possibly opening one, we said we would only do it if it was here in Fort Worth, says Buttermilk Skys owner Scott Anderson. We wanted to give back to an area and town that we knew well, and when we researched and saw that there were no other pie shops in the area, we thought it would be good to bring that home to Fort Worth.

Their menu features classic and new flavors alike. There’s key lime and coconut cream, but also new flavors, like their I-40 pie with pecans, chocolate, and coconut. All flavors are available in 9-inch, 4-inch, and 2-inch pies.
