What If I Dont Have All Of The Above Spices
If youre missing a couple of the spices above to create the most accurate version of pumpkin pie spice, dont worry, youre not out of luck yet. You can achieve similar results by using cinnamon and whichever of the other spices above you happen to have. To get 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, use ¾ teaspoon cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon ginger, allspice, cloves or nutmeg, whatever you have! If you have two of the above spices, use ½ teaspoon cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon of whichever two spices you do have.
Whats The Best Ratio Of Spices
The most classic blend puts cinnamon front and center, with slightly less ginger and just a pinch of allspice, cloves, mace, and nutmeg. But making the blend from scratch means you get to choose the ratio! Go for some extra ginger, or skip the cloves if you cant stand the flavor. Trust me, once youve made your own, youll never want to buy a commercial blend again.
Reheating An Entire Pie
An entire pie likely wont fit in your microwave, and its honestly not the best spot to reheat a whole pumpkin pie. The results simply wont satisfy.
