How To Make Spinach Dip Bread Bowls

Knorr Spinach Dip
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 10 regular muffin cups with non stick cooking spray. Unroll package of french bread loaf and slice into 10 equal size slices, about 1 inch thick. Press each slice into about a 3 inch round, I did this by pressing in between my hands. Press into the bottom and up sides of the muffin cup. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir spinach until wilted, about 3 minutes then add garlic, cook and stir for another minute then turn heat off.
  • Place cream cheese, sour cream, cooked spinach and garlic, smoked paprika, garlic salt, salt and pepper into a medium bowl. Mix until well combined. With a medium cookie scoop, scoop dip into each of the centers of bread bowls. Top evenly with shredded cheese and bake for 15-17 minutes until just turning brown on edges. Remove and let cool for 3-5 minutes before removing from oven.

Knorr Spinach Dip In A Bread Bowl

You guys. Our friend Anne is kind of a quiet authority on a lot of things. She’s worked for Gourmet and for Architectural Digest, and she has all the friends and all the fun. Her kids are turning out SUPER. We spent a delightful evening at their house several years ago, and she served Knorr spinach dip.

It turns out that for my whole life I’ve just been looking for a justification to serve this stuff every time we have a party with the slightest hint of a buffet. I didn’t know it, but I absolutely was. Pretty much on the ride home from Anne’s house we stopped at a supermarket and bought a Knorr vegetable recipe mix packet and some water chestnuts, and we’ve never looked back. This recipe “recipe” didn’t make it to the website until we needed it for Spinach Dip Deviled Eggs, but don’t blame the dip. That’s on me.

Tips For Making The Best Spinach Dip

    Knorr Spinach Dip Recipe
    • The key to the perfect dip consistency is to drain the spinach well. Be sure to squeeze out as much liquid as you can after cooking the leaves. For best results, use your hands!
    • Frozen spinach is great for this recipe. But if you dont like its stringy texture, go for fresh.
    • This dip is already incredibly addictive as it is, and it doesnt even contain cheese. Can you just imagine how much more phenomenal it would be if you added mozzarella, parmesan, and cream cheese to the mix? Try it and let me know what you think!
    • Spinach and artichoke are a perfect combination. Go ahead and add some sliced artichoke hearts in there for more flavor and nutrition.
    • Everything tastes better with bacon, so why not throw in some crumbled bacon bits to the mix?
    • If you want to make your dip a little bit fancier, thats nothing some sun-dried tomatoes cant do.
    • For a healthier option, swap out sour cream for Greek yogurt.
    • For a meatier flavor and texture, drop half a cup of cooked mushrooms in there.
    • Love seafood? This dip tastes amazing with baby shrimp!
    • Serve the dip in a brioche bread bowl for a prettier presentation. Put a handful of crackers and veggie sticks on the side to complete the look.

    Storing + Freezing + Make

Spinach Dip with Hawaiian Bread-Teach Me Homemade
    • How Long Can You Keep This In The Fridge? I usually only keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days.
    • Can You Freeze This? Unfortunately, you cannot freeze this knorr spinach dip with water chestnuts recipe. It would do serious damage to the deliciously creamy texture.
    • Make-Ahead Tips: Technically, this dip is best made a little ahead because it gives it time to set up and develop one cohesive flavor profile. It can also be made the night before, if that works better for your schedule. I suggest storing your dip in an airtight container in the fridge until youre ready to serve or spoon it into your bread bowl.

    Can You Freeze Spinach Dip

Not recommended. Both sour cream and cream cheese are finicky about freezing temperature, and wont retain their textures once thawed. The freezing/defrosting process also squashes the crispness of any vegetables in your spinach dip recipe.

    Spinach Dip Bread Bowl Recipe

Spinach Dip Bread Bowl is one of my favorite appetizer recipes to make for a party. Whether I am hosting the party at my home or attending one, this is one of quick and easy recipes to make.

One of the greatest things about this recipe is it travels well! Plus as an added bonus you can make it ahead of time. I always make it the day or night before I need it. The dip also taste better the longer it can sit, so overnight is a good time frame. This gives all the spices time to marinate together. If you are short on time you need to at least let it sit two hours or longer. I keep it in a bowl in the fridge overnight and right before serving, spoon it into the bread bowl.

Spinach Dip Bread Bowl is a great delicious appetizer for the upcoming Labor Day weekend and holidays. My family loves when I bring it for Thanksgiving and I always make sure to bring extra bread, because there never seems to be enough. Be sure to give this appetizer recipe a try, you will not be disappointed at all!

How Long Does Spinach Dip Last In The Fridge

3-4 days. Cold spinach dip can be refrigerated in a sealed container, or covered in plastic wrap or foil. If you made your spinach dip in a bread bowl, the bread will get soggy and stale the longer it sits. The sour cream in your dip will tend to separate and get watery in the refrigerator, so most any spinach dip recipe is best enjoyed fresh.

    Bread Bowl Spinach Dip

This is my favorite version of spinach dip. Theres something about the way the sweet flavor of the Hawaiian bread cubes works with the creamy spinach dip made with Parmesan cheese and onion.

    • 2 packages chopped spinach, cooked and drained
    • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped and sautéed in 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 1-1/4 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 loaf Hawaiian Sweet Bread
    • 1 package Hawaiian Sweet Bread rolls, cubed

Combine the first 6 ingredients and refrigerate at least 12 hours. Before serving create a bowl by hollowing out the center of the Hawaiian loaf and fill with spinach dip. Using a serrated knife cut the center section of the bread loaf and the package of rolls into cubes for spreading the dip.

What Kind Of Muffin Tin Should I Use

I prefer my non-stick traditional size muffin tin for this recipe. The bread bowls come right out after slightly cooled. Check your local Target or Walmart in the baking pan section. Amazon also has a big selection. If you are not using a non-stick muffin tin, lightly spray with cooking spray.

Flatten each slice of bread dough with the palms of your hands about a 3 inch round.

Press in the bottom and up the sides of your muffin tin.

Chop the baby spinach and cook in hot skillet. It wilts quickly Now add your garlic and stir it all up for a good minute or so.

Place your cream cheese, sour cream, spinach and parmesan cheese into a mixing bowl. Mix and add a pinch of smoked paprika then add the garlic salt. Add the salt and pepper. Give another good mix.

Scoop dip into your bread bowls.

Sprinkle with cheese, bake for 15 minutes, until golden.
