If youve got peanut butter cup lovers in your house, this is the ice cream cake for them. A layer of peanut butter cups runs through the chocolate ice cream base, which is iced with whipped peanut butter frosting, and decorated with an extra drizzle of fudge sauce and crushed peanut butter cups. The chocolate ice cream wasnt as rich as the one in the basic Carvel cake, but I think thats actually a good thing. Peanut butter and chocolate desserts can sometimes be super rich and almost too decadent. This option felt balanced. The marbled chocolate drizzle over the top is a nice touch and feels a little more elevated. This was my 14-year-old sons choice, and likely a good bet if youre serving a bunch of teens.
Customers Used To Have More Options
There was once a time when carrot cake was an option on the Costco cakes menu. This came with an apricot mousse filling and cream cheese icing, which was sprinkled with slivered almonds.
In international Costcos, there are even more options available. The Australian Costco gives customers the option to mix and match a raspberry filling with either a vanilla or chocolate sponge cake.
There Are Only Two Flavors Offered
You can either order a chocolate cake or what Costco refers to as a white cake, which is just vanilla flavored. The chocolate version of the cake contains chocolate mousse filling and has chocolate buttercream icing.
The vanilla version of the cake has a vanilla cheesecake mousse filling and is iced with white buttercream icing.

Prescott Said His Company Will Make A Big Deal Of The Everix Name
“We’ll definitely have point-of-purchase materials blasting the information out. This is great for us to have this ,” Prescott said. Radio ads at a later date are on the agenda, too.
Asked if the bakery had been a supplier to any of Prescott’s stores previously, Prescott said it had not, but only because the bakery had been in an exclusive agreement with another supermarket company.
Everix Bakery, now a fully owned subsidiary of Prescott’s, will continue to operate a retail store at its production facility and one it has been operating in a local shopping mall.
“And we’re certain sales of Everix products at our supermarkets will be all incremental,” Prescott said.
Prescott said he expects to have a dramatic presentation of Everix products displayed in the in-store bakeries of Prescott’s units in Fond du Lac within weeks. Then, later, the bakery may supply the other three units of Prescott’s.
“We want to move slowly. This is all new. We want to make sure that as Everix makes bigger batches there is no degradation of product,” Prescott said. Full lines of Everix’ total mix of products, including doughnuts, cookies and breads, will be sold at Prescott’s units.
“This particularly will give us a higher level of breads for our customers — some of the specialty breads, European-style breads. This just helps us get to where we wanted to get quicker,” Prescott said.
The Dubious Economics Of Homemade Ice Cream Cakes
Before we get started, though, I need to level with you. Making an ice cream cake from scratch is not an entirely good deal, economically speaking. Dairy Queen charges about $20 to $25 for its regular round cakes. Making this with good-quality ice cream and store-bought ingredients, like fudge sauce and cookies, will probably be quite a bit more.
Of course, money isnt the only reason to do something from scratch you may want to use your own special homemade flavors, or create a cake with dairy-free ice cream. You might want to decorate it specially, or include home-baked cookies inside.
But just fair warning if you want the cheapest option, pick one up at your local shop. For all the other reasons, proceed!

You need a day to create the first layer, which has to freeze until solid. Then the next ice cream layer, and after that, it freezes overnight so its stable enough to remove the springform ring. Then you frost the cake with whipped cream, and its really best to let it sit in the freezer one more night before serving. Youre always fighting the clock when working with ice cream, so give yourself plenty of time to let things chill out between steps.
Last but not least: freezer space. You need a lot. Enough to slide a whole sheet pan into the freezer. Upright freezers are best for this side-by-side and bottom-drawer freezers make it tough. Clear your freezer and do a test run with the pans before getting started.

I do however still want to do cake/cupcake orders to give my family a little extra spending cash here and there, however, if im home with my kids, I cant be packing them up at all hours of the day while hubs is at work so that I can go deliver an order, so, for those of you that work from home, or have a special order only bakery, do you have specified times of the day that people can pick up or deliver? for example, im thinking of only allowing pick ups or deliveries between 7:30 am -8:30am or later in the day from from 4:00- 6:00 what do you think? are customers usually pretty understanding about the time frames?
I would love to hear what others do in this situation as well! Im starting my legal at home cake business in August and I will only be doing deliveries. I was thinking on only offering deliveries from 10-12 each daybut then I was thinking maybe I need to have evening hours??? Not sure
