Nothing Bundt Cakes Comes To Silverdale With A Local Mother
SILVERDALE After months of delays, mother and daughter Donell and Breane Martinez have finally opened their Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise.
That moment in the morning, unlocking the door. We had people waiting outside already, and we lucked out. It was a gorgeous day, it was sunny and clear, Breane Martinez said of the first day, Oct. 30. Mom and I stood out there like ‘Wow, were open'”
“That was a pretty special moment I will never forget, she said.
The pair purchased the franchise during the pandemic and did corporate training in April. Delays involved with planning, team health and especially construction transforming a former paint shop into a bakery kept pushing the date back. The Nothing Bundt Cakes sign had been up at 10600 Silverdale Way NW for two months before opening.
The sign stirred customer anticipation and excitement, and in their first week, according to the Martinez duo, Silverdales location had more sales than any of the other six locations in Washington state.
Donell Martinez said she was struck by how happy customers have been during transactions. She described the culmination of making and decorating a cake to a customer’s liking.
They pick it up and theyre just like, Oh my god, thats so amazing,’ and they love it. Its fun to watch their faces, she said. Its fun to see the joy youre bringing people. That just makes my day.
