A Family Affair: Bakery Chain Owner Expands her reach with Sandy Springs Bakery.
When Gloria Mattei stepped out of the corporate world to open a franchise brand bakery, she knew it was risky. Now, nine years later, the mother of two has expanded and recently taken over the Sandy Springs location in addition to her Alpharetta one.
Dallas-based Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in Las Vegas in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz. It has grown to more than 430 franchised and corporate bakeries in more than 40 states and Canada. Bakeries offer handcrafted bundt cakes in a variety of flavors and sizes, such as bite sized Bundtinis, miniature Bundlets and 8 and 10-inch bundt cakes, plus decorations and gift options for any occasion.
The whole concept of Nothing Bundt Cakes is based on the premise of bringing joy to people not just for special occasions but for any occasion or just because. The bakery is a one-stop shop carrying creative decorations and small gifts that can be accessorized and displayed with the Bundlets.
Although taking over the Sandy Springs location means double the workforce and a lot more work, she couldnt be more thrilled. I am so excited to get involved in the Sandy Springs community as I have done in Milton and Alpharetta, she says. And with the recent expansion, her husband was able to leave his corporate job and join the family business.

For some, our cakes make the journey they are on more bearable, shared Rosamond. For one little girl with leukemia, her aunt came in several times a week to get Red Velvet Bundtlets because that was the only thing her niece felt like eating. We were closed on a holiday, but I learned the little girl was having surgery, so I opened up the bakery to have a Red Velvet Bundtlet waiting for her after surgery. The smile on her face and the joy that it brought to her family and care team was remarkable. I knew then how important our relationship with our community was for all of us.
Nothing Bundt Cakes has helped bring sweet smiles to children and families impacted by cancer, and this promotion is a great way to involve the community in helping to support the critical research being done at the Aflac Cancer Center, said Sharon Robinson, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Childrens. With more than 400 newly diagnosed patients last year, every dollar counts.

These cakes were even better than I was expecting. I was going into this thinking theyd be pretty good cakes with some icing. But they were so moist and delicious. I got chocolate chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Im a chocolate person but wow the snickerdoodle May have been even better than the chocolate. Also they are pretty good sized a mini can serve 2-3. Will definitely go back.

I ordered the raspberry white chocolate bundt cake and it was really good. Just enough sweetness but not too much. The raspberries definitely accentuated the taste of the cake and complimented the white chocolate cake perfectly. That icing was delightful, a nice cream cheese frosting that was just enough, not piled on too high but the right amount of sweetness to compliment the bundt cake. This was a great birthday treat.
This was my first visit ever at Nothing Bundt Cakes. It definitely will not be my last! I chose the Confetti and Red Velvet cakes. Their cakes are so moist and tasty! If youre looking for a sweet treat, I would highly recommend this place. So, so good!
This place has won my heart. I have just had a pickup for a birthday and I am a die hard fan of the cake. Guys trust me just go for it and you will never be disappointed.Definitely will be back to this place for all the occassion.
