The medical community categorizes three types of gluten-related conditions. Those with wheat allergy, celiac disease, and non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

There are three main types of gluten conditions. The most common type is celiac disease, which affects an estimated 1 in 100 people worldwide.

Also known as celiac sprue or gluten-sensitive enteropathy, it is believed that about two-thirds of people with the disease are undiagnosed and not getting the proper treatment.

The second is people with wheat allergies. People who have allergies to wheat will break out into hives, have facial swelling, and even have difficulty breathing if they come in contact with any form of wheat.

The third is people with non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Individuals with non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity have symptoms that are comparable to those of celiac disease, which go away when gluten is avoided.

They do not, however, test positive for celiac disease.

Many people who have gluten in their diet but do not test positive for celiac disease experience symptoms comparable to those seen in celiac disease, such as foggy brain, increased sadness, ADHD-like symptoms, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, headaches, bone or joint discomfort, and chronic fatigue.

What Is The Difference Between Keto Bread And Gluten

Keto bread and gluten-free bread are both types of low-carb or carb-restricted breads. However, there are important differences between the two.

Keto bread is specifically designed for those following a ketogenic diet and is primarily made of fat and protein, rather than carbohydrates. As such, it is much lower in carbs, typically containing no more than 8g of carbs per slice.

It is also made with keto-friendly ingredients, such as almond or coconut flour, and is high in fiber, which helps give it a texture similar to wheat bread.

Gluten-free bread, on the other hand, is traditionally made with ingredients that do not contain gluten, such as rice flour, millet flour, and oats. Although its usually lower in carbs than wheat bread, it is still much higher than Keto bread, usually containing between 28-38g of carbs per slice.

    This low carb bread recipe with almond flour came about somewhat by accident during my Sunday keto meal planning. Lately Ive been making the flattened version of my 4-ingredient almond flour biscuits to use for sandwiches each week, but since Ive been wanting to create a keto almond flour bread recipe, last weekend I decided to attempt that instead.

    This is one of the closest ways Ive come to a carb-free bread or carbless bread. Technically, cloud bread is lower in carbs, but the texture is much further from real bread. My white keto bread recipe is also lower in carbs , but that one is more like a fluffy white instead of a classic wheat. That one is more light, while this low carb gluten-free bread is chewy and similar to wheat bread. You can also make coconut flour bread without any almond flour at all or for a sweeter almond flour loaf, make almond flour zucchini bread. Just depends on what youre going for!

    The taste and texture of this keto almond bread reminds me of a denser wheat bread. It even has a crusty exterior! You just need to make sure to bake it for long enough, so that the inside isnt wet anymore. The difference is, its paleo, gluten-free, and packed with protein and fiber, keeping you full for much longer.
