1. ALL payments for custom orders are NONREFUNDABLE.

We are a small bakery, not a bank. While we are happy to apply your payment to store credit for a future order, we do not give cash refunds for any custom orders. From the minute you place your order, we immediately make multiple investments to ensure that your cake will be completed, some of which include: turning down other potential orders, scheduling bakers and decorators, spending great deals of time properly planning the execution of your design, and purchasing necessary tools and supplies.

When you make a deposit or a payment for a cake, that is a commitment on your behalf, and we will hold you to it, just as you should hold us to our commitment of delivering your cake as we committed.

2. Until you place your $100 date deposit, we can not guarantee availability for your date.

Upon ordering a cake, to secure your spot on our schedule, we require a $100, NON-REFUNDABLE date deposit. Placing this deposit guarantees that we will be available to make your cake on your selected date.

Date deposits will go toward the final purchase of your cake, and do not represent any additional cost.

Cake design need not be finalized before placing a date deposit. We can happily work our the remaining details after the deposit is placed, so long as all details are finalized no later than 7 days prior to your event date.

3. All Payments MUST be made according to schedule, or we may not be able to make your cake.

Whenever I get that question, it takes me back to the beginning of my cake journey. When I sold my first cake, I had no idea how much a homemade, custom cake should cost.

I had no idea how much my cakes cost to make, and I was comparing my cakes to grocery store cake prices.

Overtime I learned to value my time and effort, and began to recognize the type of people I wanted to bake for. But I still undercharged my cakes for YEARS!

The main reason Im sharing this post is to help you value the hours of work you put into your custom cakes, and help you charge the right price for them.

The goal of this cake pricing guide is to:

• help you recognize the worth of your time
• ensure you are consistently making a profit on your cakes
• empower you to properly price your cakes based on your customers/region

Cake Prices: Custom Cakes Cost

• Seven thousand eight hundred dollars for a 14 x 5 size with servings of twenty-six to thirty.

• Six thousand eight hundred dollars for a 12 x 5 size with servings of twenty to twenty-six.

• Five thousand five hundred dollars for a 10 x 5 size with servings of sixteen to twenty.

• Four thousand five hundred dollars for a 9 x 5 size with servings of fourteen to sixteen.

• Three thousand six hundred dollars for an 8 x 5 size with servings of twelve to fourteen.

• Three thousand one hundred dollars for a 7 x 5 size with ten to twelve servings.

Estimating The Time Acake Will Take

Now Im sure youre thinking, but what if a cake takes longerthan I think it will??

And that is where it gets hard. Sometimes a client might ask for something that youve never done before. You might have no idea how long it will take, or if youll have to try making something multiple times.

In those types of situations, you just have to make the bestestimate you can, and hope that youre close. Some cakes will take longer thanexpected, and some cakes will take less. I try to tell myself it all averagesout in the end.

I also want to note that I only consider active time forthis part of the equation. Inactive time like allowing your cake layers tocool, or a fondant feature to harden are not included in this.

All of our custom cakes are priced out on an individual basis, so we will work with you to figure out exactly what will work for your guest count and budget. Generally, the cost of a custom cake gets determined by size and design. We have a starting price of $180+ tax and credit card fee for 1 tier designs and $210+ tax and credit card fee for 2 tier designs. Your invoice will clearly state how much the extra fees will amount to.

Whats Included And Whats Additional

You should work directly with your wedding planner and cake designer to find out exactly whats included in your cake price because it varies by cake designer. In general, the price will include the below.

• A design consultation
• The actual cake

Things that might not be included in the estimate you receive are items like a cake stand or display, cutting utensils, cake toppers, or an extra top tier . Ask your venue/caterer if they are able to provide the cake stand and cutting utensils to potentially help cut down on costs.
